Burning fossil fuels made northern nations and fossil fuel corporations rich - it also cost us our planet.
But those who did the least to contribute to the climate crisis are now paying the price. We’re here to change that.
We say if you pollute, you pay for loss and damage. It’s just that simple.
From 25th October - 1st November activists across the country took part in the Make Polluters Pay week of action.
From protests to parliamentary debate we delivered a clear message to the government: the time for polluters to pay is NOW.

Wealthy countries are failing communities on the frontline of the climate emergency. Despite their promises to fund loss and damage at the the Paris Agreement - the landmark conference for climate change - we have witnessed nothing but years of inaction.
Imagine your house disappearing underwater due to rising sea levels ; or being forced to flee your home due to an extended drought. You have no money to repair your home - no means to support your family - what do you do? Loss and damage refers to the negative impacts of climate change such as these, that go beyond our ability to mitigate or adapt.
Fossil fuel corporations knew the harm their product was causing, funded disinformation, covered up the science and spread doubt, architecting a deadly delay in action. Communities on the frontline of environmental breakdown must be compensated for the damage fossil fuel polluters have caused.
A climate damages tax would tax every unit of fossil fuel extracted to fund communities hit by climate disaster. Wealthy governments need to find a solution to the loss and damage finance stalemate and this is it!
We're saying no more delay, and no more inaction. The U.K government needs to step up to the table, and pay up for Loss and Damage. Fill the fund with money from the Fossil Fuel Industry; It's time those who caused the crisis paid for it too.
On September 23rd 2023 we took action across the world to demand that polluters pay. Check out all the action below!
